Biographical Information

Currently, I am an Assistant Professor and Chair of Special Education Programs in the School of Education as well as an Adjunct in the Undergraduate Studies and the ILPS program. In years prior to this, I have had a rich and complex background in education, community mental health and even in some entrepreneurial experiences as reflected in the following list.

  • Teacher in urban elementary and suburban middle school special education classrooms.
  • Professor positions in colleges and universities including Antioch University, University of Dayton, Urbana University, Wilberforce University, Central State University and others.
  • Seminar leader/consultant for private and public agencies.
  • Administrative positions in universities and community mental health agencies:
  • Chairperson of Social Science Division, Wilberforce University;
  • Chairperson of Psychology Department, Wilberforce University;
  • Director of Guidance and Counseling, Central State University;
  • Executive Director, Encounter Programs, Inc., a community-based chemically dependent treatment program;
  • Director of Substance Abuse Services, Eastway Community Mental Health Center;
  • Director of Phoenix Center Counseling, private practice counseling service;
  • Director of the Tenth Door Corporation, a group treatment foster home for severely behaviorally/emotionally disturbed children for sixteen year.
