Biographical Information

I have more than 20 years of experience in higher education, working in faculty and administrative positions. I have been with Antioch University McGregor since 1998, serving in a variety of capacities: faculty and chair in Individualized Liberal and Professional Studies, founding chair of Community College Management, and Distance Learning Ombuds .As the Associate Dean of the Graduate Liberal and Professional Studies Division, I am also the chair of Community College Management and the acting chair of the Conflict Resolution Department.

Prior to coming to Antioch University McGregor, I had a one-year appointment as a visiting assistant professor at North Carolina State University, in the Academy for Community College Leadership Advancement, Innovation, and Modeling (ACCLAIM), teaching graduate courses in program planning. Between 1995 and 1998, I was a teaching associate with ACCLAIM and also coordinated professional development workshops for community college presidents, trustees, and administrators.

In addition, I have been an administrator and adjunct faculty at Pima Community College (Tucson, Arizona), which is the fourth largest multi-campus community college in the United States. From 1990-1994, I was the Director of Curriculum Services, responsible for coordinating the collegewide review and approval process for all credit-bearing curriculum and providing training to faculty in instructional design, vocational program feasibility studies, transfer and vocational course and program development. During this time, I also worked as adjunct faculty, teaching in the management department of the college. In addition, I have 7 years of experience in disabled student services at Pima, serving as a sign language interpreter, support services coordinator, and assistant director of the department.

I am a certified Birkman International Consultant and have served on the editorial boards of two scholarly journals: Community College Review and Adult Education Quarterly: A Journal of Research and Theory.
