Biographical Information
Cherise joined the faculty of Antioch
University McGregor in Fall 2002. As an Associate Faculty
member, she is currently serving as Capstone Project Advisor
and faculty advisor. In addition to advising students, Cherise
teaches Macro Theories of Conflict. She is a native of Dayton,
Ohio, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University
in Oxford, Ohio in 1989. Cherise earned a Master of Arts
in Conflict Resolution from Antioch University McGregor
in Yellow Springs, OH in 1998. Cherise is a Ph. D. Candidate
at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
Her research interests include culturally-appropriate
mediation practice with African-Americans; transformative
mediation theory and practice; and qualitative research
methodology.
Cherise is a mediator with the Dayton
Mediation Center, conducts mediation training for volunteer
mediators, conducts independent research on cultural issues
in mediation, and facilitates race relations dialogue processes
for volunteers. Prior to her work with the Dayton Mediation
Center, Cherise was the Coordinator of Civil Domestic Violence
Services for Artemis-Center for Alternatives to Domestic
Violence.
