In 2003, Steve and a citizen’s working
group received the national BLM Director’s “4 C’s Award” for
a successful collaborative project in Montana called the Whitetail/Pipestone
Travel Management Plan. Steve has also established a mediation program
with the Justice Court system in Silver Bow County, Montana and
worked as a mediator for Justice Court, workplace disputes, and on major
public land wildfire incidents.
According to Steve, “Antioch University McGregor's Masters Program
in Conflict Resolution gave me a solid foundation in both theory and practice.
The knowledge and skills I learned at Antioch have been critical to my success
in managing complicated multi-party disputes associated with public land
issues and supervising of a staff of natural resource specialists. Another
invaluable benefit of the Antioch University McGregor program is the inspiration
and professional and personal growth attained from associating with Antioch’s
quality faculty and staff.”
