Antioch University
McGregor Establishes Scholarship in Honor of Carolyn DesJardins
YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio,
April 15, 2003. Antioch University McGregor has established a
new scholarship in honor of Carolyn DesJardins, a well-respected and much
loved leader
in community college leadership development with the National
Institute for Leadership Development. The Carolyn DesJardins scholarship
will provide
assistance of $2,000 each year to community college professionals
for their graduate education at Antioch University McGregor.
Eligibility for the scholarship
requires that students work at a community college and are enrolled
full-time in Antioch’s online M.A. in Management, Community College Management
track. This master’s track provides a unique educational experience
for current and aspiring community college managers, department
chairs, and administrators. While studying traditional management
disciplines, students focus on issues relevant to community college
professionals.
Designed specifically
for the working professional, this two-year program includes one short
residency each summer as well as online individual and team learning activities.
Through collaborative study, students use the program as a learning lab
for developing skills in establishing and maintaining effective teams.
Students also create individualized professional development plans and
complete elective courses to meet professional and personal goals.
For more information on
the program and scholarship, please contact Dr. Iris Weisman, Associate Dean, Graduate Liberal and Professional Studies at (937) 769-1890 or by email at iweisman@mcgregor.edu.
