Yellow Springs, Ohio—Stephan Brashear, a current ILPS student in Yoga Psychology, is presently in India working on some of his graduate coursework related to role of meditation in vision therapy, and promoting yoga and yogic concepts in schools. He has been meeting and talking with several school and college teachers and administrators, yoga practitioners and teachers, medical doctors, and spiritual seekers. He has also been invited to speak at several meetings and seminars, and share his ideas about the value of inculcating a yogic attitude and spirit in all aspects of one's life.
During his visit Stephan has been interviewed by several national and local newspapers in India. Here is what Stephan recently said to a reporter for the national daily, The Hindu. The report titled "Bowled over by Eastern philosophy" appeared in the newspaper on August 23, 2005. "
I was earlier a student of Western psychology but realised that the solutions given conventional psychology for various problems may be temporary. Yoga was better equipped to deal with psychological problems of individuals on a more long-term basis."
