Can you Spell "Querulous"?
YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio, May 3, 2002. Antioch University McGregor's Executive Spelling
Bee 2002, held on April 30 at the Loft Theatre in Dayton, turned out to
be all the
buzz with approximately 200 people in attendance and 20 teams
competing. This was the first annual fund-raising event that Antioch University
McGregor
has hosted for the business community, helping raise over $20,000
to support McGregor's innovative programs for adult learners.
Of the 20
teams, six were winners in their respective industry categories:
Bing Design,
Clear Channel Communications, Fifth Third Bank, Lorenz and Williams,
Inc., Time Warner
Cable of Western Ohio, and Tudor Day Spa. However, it was Bing
Design and Tudor Day Spa that advanced to the final round, which
was a hard fought
battle with Bing Design winning on the word "querulous."
Due to the success of the
event, Antioch University McGregor anticipates that a similar event will
be hosted next year, giving local companies an opportunity to have fun
and show off their talent, while supporting higher education.
