Ohio, June 8, 2004 —Roslyn
R. Bolden, a current Antioch University McGregor
student was awarded the I-Zone
Business Challenge Student Award on May 15, 2004. Roslyn
received $1,000 award for her submission of a business
plan focused on providing personal concierge services
to professional women within Ohio region. The focus
of the business plan offered professional women
flexibility to focus on family and work by providing
financial services, vacation and special event
planning to assist women with work and family balance. Roslyn
initially completed the business plan as an assignment
requirement for her Entrepreneur and New Business
Formation class, where Dr. John Hogan was her professor.
Dr. Hogan recommended that Roslyn submit her plan
to the competition.
The I-Zone Business Plan Challenge, sponsored
by the Downtown Dayton Partnership sponsors the
$100,000 Business Competition challenge. The goal
of the challenge is to increase the number of start-upbusinesses
in the Dayton Region. Statistics show that start-ups
are the largest driver of new jobs in metro areas.
Thus, increasing the number of start-ups in the
region will aid job creation and improve Dayton's
growth.
