How Can "Human Rights" Be
Addressed in Resolving the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?
YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio, February 19, 2002,
Antioch University McGregor in cooperation with Antioch College's
Peace Studies program is hosting a special presentation entitled "How Can
'Human Rights' be Addressed in Resolving the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?" on
Saturday, March 2, 4:00-5:30 pm. The presentation and discussion
will be led by internationally known scholar/activist Dr. Edward
Kaufman. The
event is open to the public and will be held in the Herndon Gallery,
located on the Antioch campus in Yellow Springs.
Having dedicated a great part of his
time to applied research, the teaching and training of conflict resolution
and human rights in Israel and worldwide, Dr. Kaufman has served as the
Executive Director of the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement
of Peace at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 1983. He is a Senior
Research Associate at the Center for International Development and Conflict
Resolution and has served for many years as a member of the International
Executive Committee of the Nobel Peace Laureate and Amnesty International,
as well as the Committee for Scientific Freedom and Responsibility. Dr.
Kaufman has authored and co-authored 11 books and more than sixty academic
articles in the area of international relations, with an emphasis on human
rights and conflict resolution.
