He served as Ohio State Senator in 1991-92 and from 1999-2006 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993-94.
Trained as a lawyer, Mr. Fingerhut served as an attorney in the Older Person’s Law Office of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, as an attorney with the Cleveland firm of Hahn, Loeser & Parks, and as the Associate Director of Cleveland Works. Mr. Fingerhut served as Senior Fellow at the Center for Community Solutions (formerly the Federation for Community Planning,) a non-profit organization that takes the lead in planning and advocacy on health and human services issues in Greater Cleveland. He is also leading a process that will result in a higher education master plan for Ohio. The plan addresses the unique role of independent colleges and recognizes the increasing role of adult learners, McGregor’s key audience.
Antioch University McGregor contributes to the betterment of the individual and the community by fostering academic excellence and providing socially responsive, flexible and innovative education programs for adult learners. McGregor features a wide array of bachelor’s degree completion majors, master’s programs in conflict resolution, management, education and individualized liberal and professional studies programs.
