About Antioch University McGregor

Drug & Alcohol Policy

As required by the federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1990 and the Drug-Free Workplace act of 1988, Antioch University prohibits the illegal possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees on its property or as part of any of its activities. Such conduct will result in disciplinary sanctions up to and including expulsion, termination of employment and/or referral for prosecution.

Since Antioch University is a recipient of funding from the federal government, all students and employees are required by federal law to abide by this prohibition as a condition of their enrollment or employment at Antioch. In addition, each employee is required to notify his or her supervisor within five working days of any conviction for violation of any criminal drug statute occurring in the workplace. In the case of an employee, the University will notify all federal contracting or granting agencies of such conviction within ten days after receiving notice thereof. Any employee or student convicted under a criminal drug statute for conduct in the workplace will be subject to one of the following:

  • participation in a drug rehabilitation program approved by Antioch
  • suspension, without pay, from employment until satisfactory progress has been made in a drug rehabilitation program; or
  • immediate dismissal from enrollment or employment at Antioch
